Samira Frand is an Afghan activist, educator and social entrepreneur with a background in German Studies. She completed her primary, secondary, and Higher education in Herat, Afghanistan, earning a Bachelor’s degree in German Language and Literature from Herat University. She is the CEO of the Afghan Youth Foundation, advocating for women’s rights, education, and civic engagement. Despite severe restrictions, she continues to support Afghan girls’ access to education and employment, even after the Taliban takeover, using online and digital platforms. Currently, she is developing a comprehensive online German learning platform, including a website and mobile application, to make learning German accessible and support the academic growth of Afghan youth. Despite challenges in Afghanistan, Samira remains committed to pursuing higher education abroad and creating opportunities for other Afghan girls to access quality education. Her life reflects resilience, hope, and empowerment through knowledge.
